April 14, 2010 Church Council: Will meet this Sunday, April 18th, at 4:30 p.m. Deacon Nomination: Members of Trinity are invited to nominate 8 deacons to serve in our church from August 2010 through July 2013. Nomination ballots will available on April 11th and 18th. Letters will be sent to nominees April 13-20 for confirmation of willingness to serve. Deacon election will be on May 2 and 9th. Wednesday Night Study: Glenn's class on John Ortberg's It All Goes Back in the Box meets in C-102. It's Time: Part of Trinity's It's Time program is partnering with the Madison Assistance Program (MAP.) MAP is putting a call out for medical assistance equipment no longer being used such as bath seats, walkers, and motorized or regular wheel chairs. Drop off any of these items you would like to donate at the church and we will hand it off to MAP. Tax Relief for all Trinity Golfers: Trinity has devised a plan to provide relief from all the worries and troubles caused by tax season. We will have a golf scramble tournament on Saturday, April 17th, 2010. The tee time is 7:30 AM and the cost is $50.00 per person. The tournament will be held at Colonial Golf Course and the cost includes 18 holes of golf, a riding cart, and Bar B Q lunch (with pork, chicken, potato salad, baked beans, chips, cookies and a soft drink). The format will be "best ball" and prizes will go to the first and second lowest team scores. Sign up in the Gathering Area and we will collect the $50.00 at the golf course. This will be a fun event for all skill levels. Please come and enjoy the Trinity Fellowship. Deacons Meeting: Sunday, April 25, at 4:30 p.m. in Room C-102.6th Grade Pizza Party! The youth Big Brothers and Sisters are hosting a Pizza Party for the 6th graders who will be promoting into the youth group in August. It will be on Sunday, May 2, right after late worship in the youth room until 1:00 p.m. 6th Grade Parents are also invited to the Youth Parents' Meeting at 5:00 p.m. on Sunday, April 25, to learn more about our youth ministry and the events that the 6th graders will be invited to attend this summer as they prepare to join the youth group in August. Children's News... Parents Workshop: During Sunday School over the next two weeks, the Children's Committee would like to invite you to a workshop for parents about training children in worship. Join us for a time of discussion and idea sharing on how we can be proactive in teaching our kids about what it means to be a part of a worshiping congregation. Meet in the breakout room in the Fellowship Hall on April 18 and 25 at 9:30 a.m. College News... College Bible Study: Wednesdays at 6:00 p.m. in the college room upstairs. College Sunday: Our college students will be leading in worship on Sunday, May 9. We look forward to hearing from and worshiping with them that day! College Graduates: If you have graduated from college or another degree program last fall or this spring, will be graduating this summer, or know someone who has/will, please phone the office. We would like to recognize these graduates in worship on College Sunday, May 9. Youth News... Youth Sunday Nights: April 18: Hymns and Handbells (sanctuary), April 25: Fellowship (youth room) Youth SNF: (Sunday Night Fellowships for 9-12th graders until 8:30 p.m.): Apr. 18: Casa Blanca on Brownsferry Graduate Breakfast and Recognition: Our annual Graduate Breakfast (for high school grads, their families, and all the youth) will be Sunday, May 16. Graduates will be recognized in both services and the breakfast will be in the Youth Room during Sunday School. If you know of a high school graduate whom we have not contacted about the recognition, please let us know in the church office at 837-9737. Little Brother/Sister Party: On Wednesday, April 21, the 7th graders are invited to meet with their Big Brothers and Sisters one last time before the end of the school year. The party is from 7-8:00 p.m. in the youth room and there will be snacks and games, of course! Missions Madness! We have a missions retreat for grades 7-12 coming up April 16-18th! It will be hosted by FBC Huntsville and we will be joining other youth groups from across the state to fellowship, serve, and worship together. Please be in prayer for all the youth who will be at the retreat this weekend. High School Seniors and Staff Lunch: Our seniors are invited to one last lunch with the staff on Sunday, April 25! We'll meet at Phil Sandavol's right after late worship. Youth Parents Meeting: We will meet at 5:00 p.m. on Sunday, April 25, in the youth room. We will go over the summer schedule from 5-5:30 p.m. and then take a break. We’ll cover Passport details from 5:30-6:00 p.m. so parents of youth who are not attending camp can slip out at the break. Childcare is available and 6th Grade parents are invited, too! Passport Youth Camp: The youth will be returning to camp at Wingate, NC from June 27-July 2. The cost is $350.00 ($320 for 2nd youth; $290.00 for 3rd) and a $75.00 non-refundable deposit is due Sunday, April 25. There is a signup sheet and release forms on the bulletin board. Youth Reps Meetings: Our next meeting is April 14 - at 7:00 p.m. Youth Drama: The drama team is taking a short break and will meet again soon. Praise Team Schedule: The Praise Team is taking a break in April and a new schedule will be out in May. Guys Bible Study: The guys will meet at the Espy's on Saturdays at 7:30 p.m. The dates are April 24 and May 1. Girls Book Study: 9-12th grade girls will take a break until summer. Look for details soon! Youth Flower Sale: Flowers will be delivered to Trinity on Wed, April 21. Thank you for supporting our youth! |
