About Mike
I am so blessed to be the Senior Pastor at Trinity Baptist Church.  I am doing what I love, what I feel God has called me to do, and I work with wonderfully dedicated followers of Christ.  Being a pastor is not what I grew up thinking I would be, but my story is full of God’s guidance to this life.  I have been at Trinity since January of 2012 and I am so excited about the ways the people here show genuine care for each other and the world.  We have a diverse congregation of various ages and walks of life who are all trying to make a difference and enjoy the embrace of God in their lives.

I am a native of Hokes Bluff, Alabama and graduated from Jacksonville State University with a degree in history in 1987. I returned to Jacksonville State later and completed a master’s degree in counseling (2000). I earned a Masters of Divinity from the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in 1993 and a Doctor of Ministry from McAfee School of Theology at Mercer University in 2008.

I have been the pastor of Stewart’s Creek Baptist Church in Lebanon, KY (1989-1993), First Baptist Church of Hartsville, TN (1993-1996), and First Baptist Church of Williams, AL (1996-2011).

My wife, Mary, and I have four sons. Andrew (1992), Jonathan (1994), Samuel (1997), and Thomas (2000). I enjoy camping, hiking, playing basketball, reading, collecting coins and stamps and various historical items. I love being with my family. We like to watch sports, play games, and vacation together. My favorite spot to visit is the Great Smokey Mountains.

About Glenn

Hi, I am Glenn Bowers, Minister of Missions and Education at Trinity. I have been here since July 1, 2001. One of my primary roles is to plan our educational programs which include Sunday School and our Sunday evening programs like Trinity University.

Another one of my areas is to plan, promote, and implement the mission program here at Trinity. This includes mission trips, special offerings, and helping to meet individual needs both in Madison and around the world.

My home town is Ft. Payne, Alabama. I went to college at Northeast State and have degrees from both Jacksonville State University in Jacksonville, Alabama and The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville, Kentucky. I served Alabama Baptists for 10 years as a Campus Minister at the University of South Alabama and at the University of Montevallobefore answering the call to Trinity in 2001.

Teresa, my wife, is the youth and college minister at Trinity. We have two children, Hannah (1992) and Brett (1995).  When I’m not on a mission trip I enjoy exercising, cooking, and family trips.

I’m glad you are interested in the education and missions programs here at Trinity and hope you will find an opportunity to come and worship with us!

Interim Minister of Music

About Billy

It is my joy to serve as Interim Minister of Music at Trinity Baptist Church!   I retired in 2022 after 45 years as a full-time minister of music and worship, with the last 24 years here in Madison County at Huntsville’s First Baptist Church.    Prior to that, I served churches in Falls Church VA, Bowling Green KY, and Winston-Salem NC.

I believe that responding to God’s grace and love is the essence of worship and of life itself.  That response finds meaningful expression as we develop and share talents and skills in the name of Jesus Christ and His Church.  The music and arts ministries at Trinity provide incredible opportunities for those types of experiences.

My career in ministry has included a wide array of roles in a wide variety of settings.  God’s calling has opened doors for me to perform, conduct, teach, and minister across our nation as well as internationally.   It has been my privilege to serve as a guest conductor and clinician in numerous choral, instrumental, academic and church music conferences.  I have led mission trips, worked with music groups for children, youth, and senior adults, and written for several professional publications.  I also served as Artistic Director for Huntsville Community Chorus (2002-2018) and as Chorus Master for the Huntsville Symphony Orchestra (2004-2018).   Further, I helped to found and launch two of our region’s fine musical ensembles, the HCC Chamber Chorale and The Brass Band of Huntsville.  I am grateful for the opportunities God has granted me.

Since retiring I have been honored to serve in several structured settings as a consultant, a mentor and a presenter.  My greatest joys and fulfillment, though, come from extended time with family.   My wife, Jane, is a recognized specialist in the field of mental health and our adult children and grandchildren all now live nearby us in Huntsville.

About Teresa

After coming to Trinity in 2001 as the Minister to Youth and Pre-teens, I transitioned to Minister of Youth and College Students in 2008.  In January of 2016 I transitioned once again to Minister to Families.  I’m glad you are interested in our ministries with preschoolers, children, and youth!

I am a native of Nashville, Tennessee but have lived in Alabama since 1991.  My undergraduate degree is in Math Education from Jacksonville State University (1986) where I met my husband, Glenn.  We married in 1986 and attended the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville, Kentucky.  I graduated with a Master of Divinity degree in 1991 and also completed a Masters in History from the University of South Alabama in 1995.

I have served on staff at Hillcrest Baptist Church in Mobile, AL (1993-1996)  and University Baptist Church in Montevallo, AL (1996-2001) before accepting the call from Trinity Baptist Church in May of 2001.  Glenn and I have two children, Hannah (1992) and Brett (1995).

When I’m not with the youth or college students I enjoy family trips, working out, reading, and drinking coffee or an occasional frappacino from Starbucks!

Lane Craig

Minister to Students

About Lane

I was born in Texas, which is where I attended East Texas Baptist University and earned my Bachelor of Arts in Religion with a concentration in Student Ministry and Discipleship.

This is also where me and my wife, Wendy, met for the first time, fell in love, and married. After we married, we believed that God was calling us to move to Waco, Texas, so that I could attend Baylor University’s Truett Seminary, which is where I would complete my Master of Divinity.

But it was from early on in my undergraduate studies, I felt a strong call to Student Ministry. I am passionate about equipping and empowering students to adopt an authentic and lasting faith in Jesus Christ through partnering with parents, leaders, and members of the entire Church.

That’s because student ministry isn’t something that should be siloed for just youth or parents with teenagers, but it’s a space for the entire congregation to lead, minister, and care. And that’s because here at Trinity, we believe that the Church is a place of belonging. And not just a place of belonging for teenagers, but it is an atmosphere of familiarity, deep friendships, and authentic and trustworthy mentors from all different walks of life.

And this is all because we—together—fully believe that children and teenagers aren’t just the future of the Church, but that they are the Church.

About Nancy

Hi, my name is Nancy Foster. I’m the Director of the Weekday Preschool Ministry here at Trinity Baptist Church. I am so excited to be working with children in such a loving, caring, and nurturing atmosphere as Trinity.

I have been working professionally with children since 1987, five of those years with teen parents and their babies. When I started working with preschoolers, I started as a teacher aide, eventually working up to a teacher, in charge of all lesson plans and directing my teacher aide. My first experience being a director came when the director was on maternity leave and I loved it. I have been an assistant director or a director for a number of different preschools. I have also worked with teen parents, teaching parenting skills, and helping them finish High School.

My husband, Dan, and I have two beautiful daughters – Christine and Bethany. We are originally from a small town in Iowa, but we have moved around quite a bit. We have found wonderful church homes everywhere we have lived; it is true here also.
The first Sunday we came to Trinity we were welcomed by many families introducing themselves and making us feel comfortable and at home. Trinity was a perfect fit for my family.

I became the Weekday Preschool Director in September of 2005. I believe this job is a gift from God. I had always heard wonderful things about Trinity’s preschool program; now I can see why. The teachers are wonderful caring Christian women who love what they do. They are involved teachers who make learning fun. I work in the office with two very special women, Carol Ford, our Associate Director, and Laura Segraves, our Financial Director. Their support and guidance is invaluable.

If you are searching for a quality preschool experience for your child that is based on biblical values and guided by loving, Christian teachers, then Trinity Baptist Church’s Weekday Preschool Ministry is the perfect place for you. We extend to you an invitation to call or come by for more information about the specifics of our program including curriculum, student-teacher ratios, daily schedules, tuition rates, and availability. We are happy to answer questions and share with you Trinity’s own special brand of welcome!

About Joanne

Hello!  I have been working at Trinity since August of 2006 and I truly love my job.  I publish the worship order, announcement sheets for each Sunday, our prayer sheet for Wednesday nights, and our newsletter, The Trinity Tribute.  I am also the webmaster of our website!  There are other smaller tasks I perform on a weekly basis as well.

Dave and I moved to Alabama in 1986 after he graduated from college and accepted a job with Intergraph (now Hexagon).  We are both originally from Kentucky and were high school sweethearts.  We have been married since 1982 and have two grown children, Josh and Becca. We also have two beautiful grandchildren that we enjoy spending family time with.

Both of our kids were in the youth group here at Trinity and I was very active in that as well.  I taught 7th and 8th grade girls on Wednesday nights for many years until I joined a ladies ensemble.  Our youth group is great!  I highly encourage you to visit us if you are looking for a strong youth group for your kids.  I also sing in the Sanctuary Choir and our ladies ensemble, Heart of Praise.  I’ve been singing in a group of some type from the days in my home church’s youth choir until now.

In my free time I enjoy reading, spending time at the lake, trips to Disney World and cheering on my favorite team, the Kentucky Wildcats.

Please feel free to contact me if you would like more information about Trinity Baptist Church.
